Rwanda People, Culture and Gorilla Trekking Tour
Day 1 : Arrive at Kigali international airport
On arrival at Kigali in Rwanda, you will be received by a driver/guide and transfer you to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at The Manor Hotel.
Day 2: Kigali city tour and later transfer to Volcanoes national park
Visit the genocide memorial site in Kigali, national museum of rwanda among other spots of interest in Kigali city. In the afternoon, we shall transfer to Volcanoes national park the destination for gorilla trekking in Rwanda
In the evening, we shall go for a cultural walk to Iby'wachu where to learn about the life and people of Rwanda - the Banyarwanda. Cultural dances shall feel this evening. Stay at Mountain Gorilla view Lodge (Luxury).
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and nature tour in Rwanda.
After a briefing about gorilla trekking at the park headquarters in the morning, head to the forest looking for mountain gorillas; this activitity takes about 6 - 8 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas that day. When you find the mountain gorillas, a maximum of 1 hour is allowed to stay with them - watch them feed, rest and the young playing about.
After the gorilla trek; you can choose to take a community walk and learn more about the culture and traditions of the people of the Banywaranda or take a nature tour of the lakes and caves.
Day 4: Visit dian fossey grave and transfer to Lake Kivu.
In the morning, you will go for the hike up to Karisoke research centre, established by Dian Fossey and learn more about her conservation projects about mountain gorillas, later transfer to lake Kivu. Overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel(Luxury).
Day 5: Tour Lake Kivu and head to Nyungwe forest for primates.
We shall take a boat cruise around lake kivu learning about the people of rwanda; visit the coffee island, the hot springs. Later, drive to Nyungwe with en route stop overs for photography and lunch, reaching Nyungwe in the evening. Overnight Nyungwe forest Lodge (Luxury).
Day 6: Culture tour - Batwa people and back to Kigali.
The Batwa were initially hunter gatheres living in the forests but resettled out of the forests due to conservation activities, you will visit the Batwa community and learn about their culture and traditions. Later, transfer to Kigali and visit the King's Palace enroute, arrive in Kigali late afternoon.
